How long should I walk my dog???
Shes a 1yrold chihuahua maltese mix. I long should she be walked?? I haven’t walked her in like a month because shes really bad on a leash and chokes herself with the harness. So what I do is I miserably walk down the block to the park where there is a “greenway” which is a trail along the river that blocks you from all the cars and you feel liek your in the woods and let her loose for about 10-20mins I do this about once every1-2 weeks. I also play with her stupid little rope toy outside for like 5mins and then she goes crazy and runs around me as fast as she can for another 5. She also chases my rabbits so they noth get about another 5-10 mins of exercise.

I mean look at her I dont think she needs to be walked more then 10mins right???
By looking at her very cute pic, and seeing that she is not overweight I think that she is fine. However, the harness problem concerns me a little. Why don’t you spend a little more time training her to walk properly on the harness so she won’t choke herself? Usually little toy dogs will get enough exercise by themselves just running around or playing by themselves. When it becomes a problem is when they start getting a little chubby. Also she is much safer with a harness and leash when walking with you. Suppose a bigger dog that doesn’t like little dogs comes by your way?? What will you do then? She is still young and trainable. Make it a point to train her to walk on a leash properly and she will benefit from that training.
